Today I would like to talk about some simple shoulder exercises to give you some shoulder pain relief. If you want you can get the book with them all.

The shoulder is one of the most mobile, flexible joints in our bodies. Unfortunately that means muscle control is vital for this joint to be stable. Below I want to show you the basic anatomy of the shoulder, symptoms of shoulder pain and what you can do to heal yourself with some shoulder exercises.

Shoulder Anatomy

The shoulder is made up of a ball and socket joint (glenohumeral). There are also joints in the shoulder complex with the collar bone (clavicle) and the shoulder-blade (scapula).

The rotator cuff muscles help to stabilise the movement of the shoulder joint they are:

  1. Supraspinatus
  2. Infraspinatus
  3. Subscapularis
  4. Teres Minor

Anatomy Video

I know that was a lot of information about the muscles, ligaments and bones of the shoulder. You also heard lots about shoulder pain conditions like frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), rotator cuff syndrome, rotator cuff tears, impingement syndrome, and shoulder instability.

Thankfully most shoulder pains can be dealt with using non-surgical methods. This is where you can help yourself by doing some shoulder pain exercises. Maybe you’ve already tried shoulder blade push-ups.
